STARTUP & INCUBATION CELL JNGEC

Start-up and innovation, entrepreneurship cell at JNGEC Sundernagar was first established in the year 2017. Since then this cell is working towards creating facilities and crating awareness among students.

Activities Under Startup and Incubation cell JNGEC Sundernagar

Workshop on “Idea Generation and Opportunity Evaluation ” was organized on 16/03/2018 at JNGEC Sundernagar. Students from JNGEC and MGGEC participated in the workshop.

Orientation Session on Idea generation and opportunity evaluation for aspiring entrepreneur was organized on 30-08-2019 in which 95 participants from the college benefited by this session.

A Hackathon cum idea pitching competition was organized on 12th -13th September 2019 At JNGEC sundernagar. Experts Mr.A.Din.Pangotra (Dinesh Kumar) and Mrs. Anshul Malhotra is Product Developer in KRISHNA WOOL from industry delivered their lectures in this event. Around 80 internal participants participated in this event.

Webinar on “Problems not discussed in class” by Dr. Hemant Kumar Vinayak (Associate Professor) NITTTR Chandigarh on 05-12-2020. 60 students from Civil engineering first year participated in this event.

A webinar “Rendezvous with Innovation & Startups” has been organized by startup and Incubation cell in the college on 06th February 2021. In this event 52 students participated from Civil engineering first year. Dr. Swarkar Sharma, Coordinator, Human Genetics Research Group, Department of Biotechnology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, India shared his views on the Innovation and start ups.

Achievements

First Prize (Product title:- Modified combined refrigerator system ) won by students of JNGEC in Startup fest organized by the DTE (Dept. of Tech. Edu.), H.P. on 09/04/2018.

Students from JNGEC won first prize (Product name:- UV Ray’s protective T-shirt) in startup fest entitled as “Techstars startup weekend Solan powered by Google Entrepreneur” at Jaypee University of information Technology, Waknaghat on 14-16th Sept, 2018. Solan Startup Weekend (14 to 16th september,2018)

Students from JNGEC Sundernagar participated in A Hackathon Cum Start-Up Awareness Event at RGGEC Nagrota Bagwan Kangra on August 19th -21st 2019, and won 2nd and 3rd prize on the topics “Waste management” and “Renewable source of Energy”
