About us
Himachal Pradesh, situated in the foothills of the Himalayan mountain ranges, has emerged as hub of Textiles and developed rich traditions of handicrafts made up of Wool, Pashmina and Silk.
To harness this abundant potential in the Textile industry in Himachal Pradesh, Textile Engineering department at Jawaharlal Nehru Govt. Engineering College Sundernagar (H.P) was established in 2006 which is only of its kind in the state. The department offers Bachelor of Engineering in Textile Engineering with aim to generate a horde of highly creative textile professionals impacting the society at large.
The textile engineering department at J.N.G.E.C, Sundernagar has specialized faculties in all important areas of textile engineering such as fibre, spinning, weaving, processing, testing and designing. It is well-equipped with facilities in its laboratories to provide ample opportunity to the students to explore their penchant for learning and innovation.
